In slow perambulations of the city at its lowest season, in deep winter Lucia Gillard captured images of Venice. Most were found far from the frequently visited tourist areas. Nevertheless, she did not stay away from Venice’s iconic landmarks, Saint Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal. To ignore them would be tantamount to chopping Venice off at the knees. Rising to the challenge, she brought her unique vision to this oft-photographed city.
