Lucia Gillard

Lucia Gillard(1951-2011)

Lucia was trained in photography by her father, Rudy Gillard, a professional commercial photographer. Initially an attorney, she began the study of fine-art photography at the PHOENIX CENTER OF THE ARTS in the 1980’s. Dick and Lucia came together in 2005 and worked jointly until her life and career were cut short by her death from breast cancer in 2011. Endowed with an unerring eye, she walked the streets of Venice during the winter of 2010 and 2011.

"Venice in Winter" - Platinum and Palladium Prints book by Lucia Gillard

Her book, Venice in Winter, was published posthumously in 2012. An exhibit of her prints was held at the Center and The Lucia Gillard Memorial Scholarship was endowed. The book is presently out of print. Her images from the book are available as Piezography prints.
